SAE J429

SAE J429 is a widely recognized standard that specifies the mechanical and material properties of inch-series fasteners commonly used in the automotive, construction, and related industries. The standard applies to bolts and screws up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter, ensuring consistent strength, durability, and performance across applications.

While the most frequently used grades are highlighted in summaries, the specification also includes several additional grades and variations such as Grades 4, 5.1, 5.2, 8.1, and 8.2, which address more specialized requirements.
